Attorney David A. Looney

Over the course of his 40-year career as an attorney in Ohio, David A. Looney has developed extensive expertise that he applies to a wide-ranging practice.

His work encompasses family/divorce law, personal injury litigation, estate planning/probate work, business law, civil litigation and debt relief. David is an approved legal services provider for several national legal insurance programs, including Legal Shield, PrePaid Legal Services, Hyatt Legal Services, LawPoint, ARAG, and AARP Legal Services.

A native of Akron, David received his undergraduate degree in political science in 1971 from the University of Akron and his Juris Doctorate degree in 1974 from the University of Akron School of Law. After law school he joined the City of Akron where he served as an Assistant Director of Law, and Akron City Prosecutor.

David left his public sector job in 1982 to enter private practice when he was offered a partnership in a large Akron law firm. In 1997, he launched his own firm where he has been able to pursue the broad range of legal work that he finds professionally satisfying.

Along with his track record of success, Looney has developed a reputation as a down-to-earth person to whom clients can turn for clear advice. He is adept at explaining oftentimes complex information in simple language.

Over the years, David has helped his clients obtain numerous six-figure verdicts and settlements. Several years ago he received a 1.8 million dollar jury verdict and was invited to join the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum where membership is limited to attorneys who have won million dollar verdicts and settlements for their clients.

In addition, David has been selected by Ohio SuperLawyers for the years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
